1918A3 BROWNING SEMI-AUTO SLR RIFLE
REQUIRES FFL

Developed by small arms genius John M. Browning in 1917, the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) was designed to meet the United States military requirement for an automatic rifle during the "war to end all wars", WWI. Called the Model 1918, the BAR was made during the war by Colt, Winchester and the Marlin Rockwell Corporation. By the armistice, these three companies had made some 85,000 Model 1918 BARs for our "doughboys" in Europe, in whose hands the BAR became a legend not only in its own time, but far beyond.
(For more on the history of the BAR click here.)

Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc. manufactures a semi-automatic version of the rifle; 1918A3 WWII version (shown here). It is the only one of it's kind in production anywhere in the world. It is manufactured with many of the original G.I. WWI and WWII parts, including the barrel and sights.

We take great care in the building of each rifle. Only highest quality USGI standard parts are used in its production. The heart of the 1918A3 SLR is the "Receiver" made from 8620 cast steel that has been carbonized and heat-treated. The castings are machined on a state-of-the-art, computer controlled machining center. Every rifle is fully assembled and test-fired under the direct supervision of our master armorer.

The entire manufacturing process is accomplished at our facility in Chardon, Ohio.
Our team is made up of experts in the military ordnance field, some with over 30 years experience in the trade.
